If you’re nodding your head “yes” to the questions above, we encourage you to contact Ironworkers Local 568 about apprenticeship training programs. An apprenticeship program will provide a way to achieve the success you’re looking for.
Applications may be filled out Tuesday-Thursday from 9AM to 11 AM at 119 South Centre Street, Cumberland, MD 21502. Applications will be held for six months. Read the latest notice and requirements.
Upon being accepted into the apprenticeship program, apprentices are required to attend a minimum of 204 hours of training each year to meet the expectations of the program. Training combines both classroom and shop hours in conjunction with approximately 5600-8000 hours of On-The-Job training. Normal classroom instruction is held from September to May utilizing evenings and select weekends as necessary.
An Important Note
It is important to mention that an ironworker must be willing to work in high places, have a good sense of balance, and be alert to potential danger to themselves and others. However, the apprenticeship program includes safety training with OSHA certified instructors so that the danger is minimized.
