On June 29-30 the Ohio Valley Trades and Labor Assembly held their annual Dunk Tank for Charity event during Undo’s Upper Ohio Valley Italian Heritage Festival in Wheeling, WV on June 29-30.
In addition to the Dunk Tank, a raffle was also held to benefit Upper Ohio Valley charities.
In total, the events raised more than $3,500 for local charities by partnering with public officials, clergy, and media personalities who sat in the dunk tank to benefit the local charity of their choice.
Proceeds from the fundraising efforts went to 12 different charities including: Easter Seals, Augusta Levy, North Wheeling Youth Center, Shop with the Sheriff, Undo’s Italian Festival Scholarship, Unity Center, Mountaineer Food Bank, YMCA, Youth Systems Services, Coats for Kids, the Road Home Animal Project, and the Osiris Shrine Children’s Hospital.
“Our annual Dunk Tank is a great way for Labor to give back to the community,” said Dave Cantrell, a member of IBEW 141 and Treasurer for the Ohio Valley Trades and Labor Assembly. “It also provides an opportunity for us to show people that we care about our home and give them an example of why they should hire local workers.”
